MIG, STICK and TIG in Roblox Welding Simulator

Checked

The Stick And Tig Update transformed Welding Simulator from a simple point-and-click game into a nuanced physical simulation featuring three distinct welding disciplines.

Each method features unique physical handling, specific tooling requirements, and distinct finishing steps.

Three Methods: Core Mechanics & Controls

Welding Method Wire / Rod Type Distinct Physical Mechanic Travel Speed Pace Best Suited Workpieces
MIG Continuous spool wire Automatic continuous wire feed Medium, smooth glide Flat seams, Horseshoes, Car Panels
STICK Consumable coated rod Rod melts down (feed downward) + Chipping slag Slow, deliberate drag Rusty joints, Frame joints, Repairs
TIG Tungsten electrode Ultra-tight arc gap + Micro-step motion Very slow, micro-pace Pipe joints, Exotic customer pieces

MIG: High-Speed Continuous Wire Seams

MIG (Metal Inert Gas) is the default method unlocked when you first step into the shop.

  • Mechanics: Shielding gas and filler wire are fed automatically through the torch nozzle as long as you hold the trigger.
  • Optimal Gap: Maintain the torch at 12mm stick-out from the joint.
  • Pacing: Move at a moderate, steady tempo. It is the fastest way to churn through early orders like Horseshoes and Gears to build starting capital.

STICK: Burning Rust, Feeding Rods & Chipping Slag

STICK (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) is designed for heavier structural repairs and rusted steel. It introduces a multi-step workflow:

  1. Burn Through Rust: The high-intensity arc burns away surface corrosion as you advance along the seam.
  2. Dynamic Rod Feeding: Unlike MIG wire which feeds automatically, the STICK electrode melts down as you weld. You must gently push your cursor downward as you travel to compensate for rod consumption and maintain an even arc length.
  3. Chip Off the Slag: Crucial Step! When the weld is complete, the joint will be covered in dark protective slag. Take your chipping hammer and tap the seam to chip away the crust. If you fail to chip the slag, the inspection scanner will not grade your work.

TIG: Tight Arc Control & Rainbow Welds

TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) is the precision craftsman's method.

  • Tight Arc Discipline: The tungsten tip must hover mere millimeters above the workpiece without ever touching the molten pool. Touching the metal contaminates the tip and ruins your score.
  • Micro-Step Pacing: Travel very slowly with tiny incremental hand adjustments.
  • Shiny Rainbow Beads: Perfect heat control and even pacing create vibrant multi-colored rainbow oxidation bands along the bead. High-end customers pay premium bonuses for verified rainbow finishes.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is my STICK weld still incomplete after I finished welding?

STICK welding requires you to take your chipping hammer and chip the protective slag off the cooled bead before the game will inspect and grade your weld.
